A post-it on your lock screen

One Thing is an Android app. Write one note, and it stays on your lock screen until it is done.

Coming soon to Google Play

It stays where you look.

Your note shows in two places on the lock screen: a quiet pinned note, and big text on a live wallpaper. Use a plain background or your own photo.

There is a Home Screen widget too.

A lock screen with the note Call the bank before noon, in big dark text on a plain light background. The same note in big light text on a plain dark background. The same note in big text over a dark photo.
A lock screen with the note Prepare the board update, and the words focusing, 25 min left, under it. A notification for a running session: 22 min left, a progress bar, and the buttons Pause, Stop and Done.

Act on it from the note.

Tap Done, and it is finished. Stuck? Tap 2 min for a 2-minute start. Both work from the note, without opening the app.

Need longer? Start a focus session in the app. The time left stays on your lock screen, and Pause, Stop and Done stay on the notification.

On some phones you expand the note first to see the buttons.

It can come back tomorrow.

Mark a note Every day. After you tap Done, it returns the next morning. Until then, a small stamp shows when you tapped. It is a record of a tap, and nothing more.

  1. Give the cat a snack

In the morning, it is there.

  2. Done, 8:14

    You tap Done.

  3. Give the cat a snack

The next morning, it is back.

It shifts, so you keep seeing it.

A note that never changes can fade into the background. So now and then, when the screen turns off, your note moves and changes color. The words stay the same.

This is the Living note. One switch in Settings turns it off.

Your note stays on your phone.

  • No account
  • No analytics
  • No internet permission

The app does not ask Android for internet access, so it cannot send your notes anywhere. The one outside contact is Google Play, through the Play app, if you buy Pro. A note leaves your phone only if you share it or save a backup.

This website keeps the same promise. It has no analytics, no trackers and no cookies, and its fonts load from here.
